Online Casino vs. Online Poker: Bonuses
While some American online casino sites are connected
to American
online poker sites, some online poker sites stand
on their own, and it is clear that there are some distinct
differences between online poker and other online casino
games. One way in which this difference is manifested
online is in the way online bonuses are distributed.
Online Poker Bonus
An online poker bonus can be awarded for signing up with
a new site, continuing to play at a particular site or
for referring a friend. Unlike some online casino bonuses,
most online poker bonuses are ?non-sticky,? meaning they
can be withdrawn once the bonus has cleared. Until the
online poker bonus has cleared though, the player cannot
use it to bet with or withdraw it. Typically, online poker
bonuses are cleared by meeting a hand requirement. Once
you have played the requisite number of hands, generally
a multiple of the bonus, the deposit or both, you get
the bonus.
Online Casino Bonus
An online casino bonus can be earned in much the same
way as an online poker bonus. However, some online casino
bonuses are "sticky", meaning you can never
withdraw them. However, you can start betting with them
right away, which is appealing to many players. Online
casino bonuses are cleared with a wagering requirement.
Once you bet a certain amount of money, again determined
by the size of the deposit or bonus, the bonus is released.
For a sticky bonus, this means you can withdraw any funds
other than the bonus funds, for a non-sticky, you can
withdraw whatever funds you choose. Sticky casino bonuses
can be found at many Las
Vegas internet casinos.
Online Poker Bonus vs. Online Casino Bonus
Neither bonus is necessarily better than the other, rather,
it's really all dependent on what you like to play. However,
you should be aware of the differences so you are not
confused about what it takes to earn your bonus and what
you have actually earned.
